René Timmermans (born 1968, Winterswijk, the Netherlands) is a landscape and environmental photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden.

His work focuses on place — the relationship between land, light, and the natural and cultural environment. Whether photographing remote landscapes or familiar surroundings close to home, his images explore how environments are shaped, inhabited, and experienced.

René’s photography has been published internationally, including in National Geographic Traveler and Coastal Living. His work is used in editorial contexts, advertising campaigns, product design, and corporate communications.

Introduced to photography at an early age by his father, René learned the craft using a fully manual SLR and working in the darkroom. This early grounding in photographic fundamentals continues to form his approach today, shaping a considered digital workflow rooted in precision, patience, and attention to detail.
